Meet the Breed

On Saturday October 17th, club members and their dogs held another Meet the Breed at the Petco in Enfield, CT.  This enjoyable and educational event is well received by the public, who get a chance to meet our dogs, ask questions and learn more about pure bred dogs and our club.

Dennis Rembiesa did a wonderful job coordinating this event again with Petco.  Thanks to him and our club members who brought their dogs to participate and help to make this event a success.

Scottish Festival

Club members participated in the Glasglow Lands Scottish Festival, held on July 18, 2009 at Look Park.  It was a beautiful day to showcase our beautiful Shetland Sheepdogs as one of the events of the annual festival.

Dennis Rembiesa did a wonderful job coordinating this event for the club and deserves a big thank you for all his work, as do all the other club members who participated and helped make it a success.

WMSSC Match

Western Massachusetts Shetland Sheepdog Club Match
Sunday September 13th 2009

The Match was great! The weather was beautiful and once again the members who volunteered their time made it a great success.
We had many beautiful puppies and adult dogs attend. I think the entry was small because we were battling the Rhode Island all breed shows, and the Agility trials in Granby. I know most of the Colonial SSC members who normally attend our match were busy getting points on their dogs.

Charlotte was the Match Chairman and once again did a great job.

Thank you to our club member judges Steve and Toni Mapes, we heard nothing but good reports from the attendees on how gentle you were with the puppies and felt you’re judging was well thought out and correct. (Even if it wasn’t their dog who won)

Thanks again for all who attended and made our match another fun day!

Sincerely,
Donna

Puppy Picnic

Our hosts, the Lucia's

We had a beautiful day with wonderful weather for our annual Puppy Picnic.  Sunny, breezy but not too hot and the thunderstorms cooperated by not arriving until later in the evening.

The Lucia’s generously hosted the picnic at their home again this year.  The fully fenced yard was enjoyed by all our shelties, who romped and played the afternoon and had a great time socializing.

The food was delicious, hotdogs and hamburgers were the main items on the menu with a nice assortment of side dishes to round off our lunch.  The layered taco dip was a big hit… with people and shelties!

Did they save any of that Taco Dip for me? See you next year!
